JEE Main 2027 Registration: Dates, Fees, Required Documents & How to Apply?

NTA JEE Main 2027 registration process occurs in two sessions. The session 1 registration process typically begins in October, and the session 2 starts in JanuaryJEE Main registration fee for general category students is INR 1000 for males and INR 800 for females. How to Register for JEE Main 2027?

JEE Main application process is a 3-step process. These steps are mentioned below:-

Step 1: Registration Form

  • Click on “New Registration” for JEE Main 2027.
  • Enter basic details: name, date of birth, gender, ID type (usually Aadhaar), mobile number, and email ID.
  • Create a strong password and choose a security question and answer.
  • Submit the form to generate an Application Number; note it down safely.

Step 2: Application Form

  • Log in using the application number and password.
  • Fill in personal details: parents’ names, address, category, nationality, and state of eligibility.
  • Enter academic details: Class 10 and Class 12 board, year of passing/appearing, school name, and roll number (if available)
  • Pick exam city preferences (usually up to four) in order of priority.
  • Upload required documents.

Step 3: Pay Application Fee

  • The system displays the JEE Main registration fee based on category, gender, location, and number of papers.
  • Pay online using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI; processing charges and GST apply extra.
  • Wait for payment confirmation; do not refresh the page during the transaction.

Ques. Are DigiLocker Documents valid for JEE Main 2027 Registration?

Ans. Yes, Documents available in the DigiLocket are valid for JEE Mains 2027 Registration.

Ques. I belong to a reserved category. Do I need to upload the category certificate during JEE Mains Registration 2027?

Ans. No, students belonging to the reserved category do not need to upload the category certificate. The aspirant must fill in the Certificate number, date of issue and Issuing Authority.
Candidates who have applied for a category certificate must fill in the acknowledgement/ receipt Number, date of application and issuing authority details. However, during document verification, a category certificate is mandatory. 

Ques. Can I change my JEE Main exam city after submitting the registration form?

Ans. No, the JEE Main exam centre is usually not allowed to change after final submission, except in rare special drives announced by NTA. Candidates should choose all four city options carefully during registration to avoid later issues.

Ques. Can I deactivate my JEE Main registration and get a refund if I decide not to appear?

Ans. No, JEE Main registration fee is non‑refundable.

Ques. Is it compulsory to use my own mobile number and email during JEE Main registration?

Ans. No, Candidates can also use their parents’/siblings’ numbers. All OTPs, password reset links, and official alerts (admit card, city slip, result, counselling notices) go to the registered mobile and email. It is recommended to use your own/parent’s mobile number.

Ques. What happens if my name or my parents’ names are different in Aadhaar and the Class 10 certificate?

Ans. Inconsistency can cause verification problems during counselling. Candidates should either correct documents before registration or strictly follow the naming format suggested in the bulletin and carry supporting affidavit/records to justify minor spelling differences.

Ques. Should I register from a mobile phone or a computer for JEE Main?

Ans. It is safer to use a desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection. Mobile browsers sometimes compress or rotate images incorrectly and may time out during fee payment, which can lead to incomplete or duplicate transactions.

Ques. What are the guidelines to generate a password during JEE Main registration?

Ans. While filling out the JEE Main Registration form, candidates need to choose one strong password. The guidelines for creating a password are as follows:-
The password must be 8 to 13 characters long.
Have at least one uppercase & one lowercase letter.
Have at least one numeric value.
Have at least one special character (!@#$%^&(*-).
