JEE Main Result 2027: Dates, How to Check, Scorecard, Cutoff, Topper’s List

NTA will release JEE Main Result 2027 separately for Session 1 and Session 2 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The result is declared in the form of an online scorecard. NTA percentile, All India Rank (AIR), and qualifying status for JEE Advanced and counselling are present on the scorecard.

For candidates appearing in both sessions, NTA considers the best of the two JEE Main scores for the final result.

NTA prepares the JEE Main 2027 result using the final official answer key. No complaints about answer keys or recorded responses are accepted once the result is declared.

JEE Main Score Calculation 2027

Raw Marks and Marking Scheme

For Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), the pattern is expected to remain:

  • Total questions: 90 (30 each in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
  • Questions to attempt: 75 (25 per subject, as some Numerical questions are optional).
  • Marks: +4 for every correct response, −1 for every incorrect MCQ, 0 for unattempted questions.
  • Maximum marks: 300.

Normalisation and NTA Percentile

Because the exam is held in multiple shifts, NTA uses normalisation to ensure fairness.

  • Percentiles are calculated shift-wise. Afterwards, NTA merges these scores across all shifts.
  • The formula to calculate the Total Percentile is
Total Percentile (TPI)=100× (No. of candidates appeared from the Shift with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the score of the candidate/ Total number of candidates who appeared in the shift)
  • Percentiles are reported up to 7 decimal places to minimise ties.

Compilation of NTA Score & Result

  • NTA merges percentile scores for total raw marks across all shifts (e.g., Day 1 Shift 1, Day 1 Shift 2) from the calculation above.
  • These merged scores become the final NTA scores used for result compilation and candidate allocation.

JEE Main Tie-Breaking Rules

If two or more candidates obtain the same overall NTA percentile in Paper 1, NTA uses the following order:

  • Higher percentile in Mathematics.
  • If still tied, higher percentile in Physics (Aptitude in case of Paper 2).
  • Then a higher percentile in Chemistry (Drawing in case of Paper 2A & Planning Based Questions for Paper 2B).
  • If still tied, a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects (accuracy-based criterion).
  • Finally, if the tie still persists, NTA assigns the same rank to all candidates.

Re-evaluation or re-checking of JEE Main results is not permitted; published scores are final.
